Ring..ring...ring....
We're really starting to notice Evan copy things that we do. It's the cutest discovery that he is mimicking adults. Such a smart cookie he is. Here he is calling his girls up. Audrey, Eden, Cambria...the list has started, though he always has a smile when we say Audrey! ;)

Sunday morning coffee
"We cannot find a place where God is not."
-Max Lucado
For this I am thankful.
Evan is sick this weekend. I'm not certain what has him down, but am suspect of the Roto virus. Today his body seems to be doing better, but he is still quite tired and a moody little man. Because of this we kept him home from church. Travis and I played Phase 10 last night and the rule was that whoever won the game was who would go to church today. Travisimo was champ so off he went as I laid our sicky baby down for a nap. But because there is no place God is not, he was able to meet with me here at home. (smile) How it comforts me to know that He will always be there wherever I am going.

Allergies?
Evan loves food just like his Mama and Daddy. For the most part he's pretty adventurous with what he will eat, and our doctor gave us no restrictions for his diet so it's really great. As you read in my previous post, I love Peanut-butter and Jelly sandwiches as does Travis. So we wanted to share this love with little Ev. He was probably right around a year when he took his first bites of this delicious creation. After he ate about 1/2 the sandwich I noticed a little rash by his mouth. He sure didn't seem bothered by it though so he finished and we played with our friend monkey. About a month later we tried it again and immediately after eating a few bites, I saw this:

Panick...is that an allergic reaction? I immediately took the sandwich away and gave him something else. Evan just looked at me like "Yo Ma, What's Up?". You would never have known anything was wrong.
I brought these pictures in to show the doctor and he said it was just a food rash. But even though it was just a rash it still is an allergic reaction. We did a RAST blood test specifically for peanut and his results came back with a very small allergy. So no peanuts or nuts for Evan till after he's two and we do even more allergy tests. The doc thinks he'll grow out of it and pray he does.

It's about time...right?
Hi Friends. It's about time we start the update of the happenings in the Lucas' life. How amazing it is that a day, a week, even months can pass by before you realize you haven't shared your heart or precious moments with those who really care about you. We find joy in knowing we have a large family (friends and relatives) spread across this country and then some, who love us and enjoy the updates of our life. So let's begin and get you all caught up...
We start with lil' E. He's been doing it for awhile now, but here are some of His first steps we caught on camera. Our sweet little monkey can walk without assistance, oh how we love his proud smile! Enjoy.

Ode to the PBJ
Today I was craving a Peanut butter and Jelly sandwich. It's amazing how a sandwich I ate almost everyday as a kid still tastes wonderful. It's been awhile since I had one. Travis takes them for lunch once or twice a week. But since I'm trying to eat what Evan eats for lunch, and because he cannot have peanutbutter, I have been cutting down on my PBJ intake. It's so sad isn't it?
Today is different though. It's lunch time and Evan is still napping. Going down later for his nap has a hidden blessing for Mama. As I walk toward the kitchen to determine what we have for a quick lunch, I remember. Creamy peanut butter in the door of the pantry. Homeade blackberry jelly in the door of the fridge. Soft yummy wheat bread on the counter. Ouhhhh my heart skipped, I can have a PBJ and feed Evan when he wakes. How delightful! This was also my chance to partake in the fabulous Blackberry jelly Grandma Kate gave us for Christmas. The jar is almost half gone and I haven't had my share. Jelly made by Grandma Kate doesn't last to long in any Lucas house.
So here I am enjoying a delicious treat, the PBJ. Crunching on some chips and slurpping up my water. Pure joy.

Happy Friday
Hi Friends!
Happy Friday. Are you ready for the weekend?
We woke up to snow this morning, and it's still snowing a little bit right now. My friends Lando and Bria came over to play with me this morning. I was excited they were over but was also little shy too. It was kinda weird to see someone else play with my toys. We laughed and we cried a little. I was also happy to see them go home. I got excited when I saw them walking down the driveway. We shut the door and I started talking to my bear and running around while Mama made lunch. We're going to my Gma and Gpa's house tonight. They have a cat named Max. Max is so cool, he makes me laugh. I love him. Then tomorrow night I get to go to my other Gma and Gpa's house. I'm so lucky to be loved so much.
Have and rockin weekend everybody.
Peace out!

New Favorite
So we've been listening to Pandora a lot lately. I listen and home and Travis will listen at work. We are so in love with this site and have found many new artist we really like. What is Pandora you ask? Pandora is an online free radio station. You create an account, enter in an artist you like and they will play that artist plus others that are similar. Your stations are saved so it's easy to jump from style or artist when your mood changes. Super cool! So our new favorite station is Shawn McDonald, his music is full of truth and has a funky beat. Thanks to our friend Desirae who introduced him to us. We listened to him while beating the guys in a game of Canasta and have listened to him since. Check him out I'm sure you'll enjoy him too.
Here is a picture of our sweet family taken when our newest nephew was born December 26. Love you all. Have a terrific, enjoyable weekend.
